What does it mean to be a member of Payne Springs UMC?
During the ritual for receiving new members into the church at the end of a Sunday worship service we are all asked, new and old members alike, to support Payne Springs UMC by our prayers, our presence, our gifts and our service. As members we do our best to fulfill this promise.
Prayers and Presence
The church not only gives spiritual guidance and support to its members, but it grows and develops in powerful ways when its members remember it in their own personal prayers, by being faithful in attendance at worship on Sunday morning, and by taking part in the many opportunities it offers to help develop the spiritual life of its members.
Supporting the church financially not only enables the church to offer a wide range of services to the congregation, the local community and the world — it significantly increases our individual sense of community and belonging by supporting the valuable ministry of Payne Springs UMC. Gifts may be made during the offering on Sunday morning or by mail.
Payne Springs UMC has a rich history of taking seriously the words of Jesus to “love your neighbor as yourself” and offers a wealth of opportunities to serve the church, our local community, the world and, especially, to be attentive to the needs of our individual members. You are encouraged to get involved in some of these opportunities.
