The Diller family is happy to be appointed by Bishop Huie and the Cabinet to their new charge starting November 1.
“The old has passed away, behold, the new has come,” Paul tells the Corinthians. “Life is change” – that is something we all know. As Christians, we also know that God is at work in all life’s changes. Whether we translate Romans 8:28 “all things work together for good for those who love God” or “God makes all things work together for good,” or “in all things God works for good,” we know God’s love is in every change in life, giving us new possibilities, new challenges and new adventures.
Several years ago I read a UMW slogan: For all that has been ‘thanks!” for all that will be “yes!” This is the way to live our lives. We are coming to the great season of Thanksgiving, a time to look back with gratitude and a time to look forward with hope. As the pilgrims praised God in both good and bad times, we Christians follow Paul and “give thanks in all circumstances.”
Payne Springs stands on the threshold of a new beginning. Let us pray together, worship together, study together and work together to do great things for God in our community and in God’s world.
